Alpha Course concludes — a dialogue about faith
After two months of weekly sessions the Alpha Course concluded on Friday with a good gathering, despite a couple of regular participants unfortunately being ill.
Conclusions? People enjoyed the convivial meal that began each session while the Alpha Course videos appealed to some but not all. Probably the heart of the course, though, was the discussion that followed in which we broke into two groups and people expressed their own experiences of faith or the search for it.
Fr. Simon summed it up well: the course gave a rare opportunity for a dialogue about faith.
It was a collective effort and thanks are due to all who participated and made it a friendly, honest, non-judgemental forum for discussing the question of faith.
Jo Helme organised it all brilliantly. Thanks too to the providers of delicious soup, sandwiches, cheese and stellar cake and to the clearer and washer-uppers, and to Frank McNally for leading one of the discussion groups.
